The .wang TLD was launched just over a year ago. It has since enjoyed strong and steady growth in registration volumes and constantly occupies one of the top spots among new gTLDs. As those first registered domain names expired, the .wang registry is very pleased with the strong renewal rates:
• 85.9% for day one (30 June 2014) - There were 14,315 domain names registered on day one and only 2,021 names not renewed.
• 81.06% for week one (30 June 2014 - 6 July 2014) - There were 28,539 domain names registered during the first week and only 5,405 not renewed.

August 26, 2015Announcement on Exclusive Registration Period for Name Collision Affected Names
Pursuant to ICANN’s latest Announcement, second level domain names in .wang TLD that were blocked due to Name Collision Occurrence Assessment (“SLD Block List”) may be released.
To implement ICANN mandated rights protection mechanisms, Zodiac Registry will offer an exclusive registration period for names that were (i) included on its SLD Block List and (ii) recorded in the Trademark Clearinghouse but withheld from allocation during its Sunrise Period (“Affected Names”).
Time
Zodiac Registry has opted for “ICANN Selected Exclusive Registration Dates” as follows:
Notice Period:12:00 December 15, 2014 to 11:59 January 16, 2015
Exclusive Registration Period:12:00 January 16, 2015 to 11:59 February 15, 2015
All time is UTC+8.
Eligibility Requirement
During the Exclusive Registration Period, Affected Names will be made exclusively available for allocation or registration to holders of eligible trademarks that have been validated by the Trademark Clearinghouse. In addition, a valid SMD file matching the applied-for domain name should be provided and validated.
Privacy or proxy services may not be used in connection with applications submitted during the Period.
Applicant shall comply with all applicable Registry Policies (including String Policy and Reserved Names Policy).
Allocation
All applications received during the Exclusive Registration Period will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dispute Resolution

a. At the time the challenged domain name was registered, the registrant did not hold a trademark registration of national effect (or regional effect) or the trademark had not been court-validated or protected by statute or treaty;
b. The domain name is not identical to the mark on which the registrant based its registration; or
c. The trademark registration on which the registrant based its registration is not of national effect (or regional effect) or the trademark had not been court-validated or protected by statute or treaty.

Zodiac Registry is pleased to announce that the Name Collision names that are previously reserved per ICANN requirement are to be released on November 27, 2014.
Considering the popularity of the ".wang" name space, it is no surprise that the Name Collision list holds over 18 thousands names, among which are quite some good names. To facilitate a prospective registrant digging out his/her preferred domain names, the Registry has picked up a subset of the names that may be of interests to registrants. Specifically, there are 3562 domains and are divided into five categories, and quantity of each category is as listed below:

Furthering the last announcement on releasing a batch of reserved premium names published on 8 August, the Registry would like to add up yet another premium three-character names to the release list thanks to ICANN’s approval to open up the previously reserved Name Collision listed names. All interested applicants are invited to apply, and the application rules are as follows:
- 1.Application Period:
From 00:00 of November 18, 2014 to 23:59 of December 29, 2014(UTC+8). - 2.List of Domains to be Released:

Trademark Claims Services apply to the released names, too. - 4.Allocation Rules:

In order to promote further development of “.wang” TLD and increase the utilization of premium names, the Registry hereby announces to launch a marketing campaign to release certain Reserved Premium Names.
Lists of Reserved Names that are to be released for application:
- 1. Two-character strings that are not listed in the ISO 3166-1. Please refer to Attachment One for the available names list.
- 2. Three-character strings that is previously reserved by Registry. Please refer to Attachment Two for the available names list.
Applicant Qualifications:
Four types of qualified applications are eligible to submit application for matching .wang names:
- 1. A Category: holder of the matching .com domain; e.g. owner of ab.com can register ab.wang.
- 2. B Category: holder of the matching .cn domain (including.com.cn/.net.cn/.org.cn); e.g. owner of ab.cn can register ab.wang.
- 3. C Category: trademark holder whose names are shown in the Name Collision List;
- 4. D Category: holder of matching .net or .org domain; e.g. owner of ab.net or ab.org can register ab.wang.
Application Stages:
- 1. Application Period: from August 8, 2014 to September 12, 2014 (China Standard Time). Applicants need to submit application forms to the Registry via sponsoring Registrars.
- 2. Allocation Period: from September 18, 2014 to October 22, 2014 (China Standard Time). After reviewing, eligible applications will be notified to register the names via sponsoring registrars.

Given the available names in the attachments, only 100 allocable names are permitted for two-character and three-character names. -

Application Materials
Applicants should submit authentic, accurate and complete materials as required in this announcement.

Submission

Review
Registrars shall review all application materials. The Registry shall allocate domains based on the allocation rules specified in this announcement. -

Allocation Rules
7.1 Domains in operation enjoy priority over those that are not in use.
7.2 In terms of allocation priority, Category A is prior to B, B is prior to C and C is prior to D.
7.3 Applications from the same category follows first-come-first-served rule (based on the time Registrars submit the application to the Registry).

Zodiac was founded in 2008 in anticipation of the launch of ICANN’s new gTLD.
Zodiac applied for more than a dozen of Chinese TLDs that Chinese Internet users can use easily.
“. Wang”, a transliteration(pinyin) of “网” (web) in Chinese language, the first new gTLD to hit the Chinese market, will no doubt make Chinese Internet users make use of domain names much easier and much more meaningful.
According to the launch plan of “.wang” TLD, Sunrise Period is from March 22 to May 25, Landrush Period from May 26 to June 29, and General Registration Period starts on June 30.

Zodiac Registry Limited is pleased to announce that the first TLD, .wang, will hit the market starting on 21 April.
Zodiac was founded in 2008 in anticipation of the launch of ICANN’s new gTLD.
Zodiac applied for more than a dozen of Chinese Top Level Domains (TLDs) that Chinese Internet users can use easily relate to.
“wang”, a transliteration/pinyin of 网 (web) in Chinese language, the first new gTLD to hit the Chinese market, will no doubt make Chinese Internet users making use of domain names much easier and much more meaningful.
According to the launch plan of .wang, which is approved by ICANN, the first stage of the launch periods is the Sunrise Period. Sunrise Period is a specially designed period for Trademark Clearinghouse validated mark holder to apply for their matching domain name in the TLD.
Sunrise TimeLine
Sunrise Period will start on 21 April and close on 21 May. Exact timeline is as follows:
Sunrise notice 00:00 of 22 March to 23:59 of 20 April (UTC+8)
Sunrise period 00:00 of 21 April to 23:59 of 21 May (UTC+8)
Quiet Period 00:00 of 22 May to 23:59 of 25 May (UTC+8)
Eligibility Requirement
During the Sunrise Period, holders of eligible trademarks that have been validated by the Trademark Clearinghouse may apply to register domain names in the TLD, provided a valid SMD file from the Sunrise-Eligible Rights Holder (or its agent) matching the applied-for domain name was provided and validated.
Privacy or proxy services may not be used in connection with applications submitted during the Sunrise Period.
Sunrise applicant shall comply with all applicable Registry Policies (including Registry Operator’s String Policy and Reserved Names Policy).
Allocation
All applications received during the Sunrise Period will be time-stamped as they are received in the registry system.
After the Sunrise Period ends, the applied-for domain name will be allocated to the applicant of a Valid Sunrise Application and if two or more Valid Sunrise Applications are received, it will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Sunrise Registration Fee
The first year registration Fee is US $1,688. Second year or renewal will go back to standard price.
Sunrise registration fee cannot be refunded in the event the registration request is withdrawn during the Sunrise Period. However the registration request is eligible for a refund if the applied-for domain name is allocated based on time stamp to other applicant who applied for the same name.

First of all, we would like to thank you for your full support and active participation in the start-up activities of Zodiac’s new TLD launch. To better promote the formal Open Registration of TLDs, Zodiac decides to make the following adjustments on Expression of Interest Program, Pioneer Program and Premium Name Program:
1. Expression of Interest Program ends earlier on March 3, 2014. Rules to honor the electronic cash coupons remain the same.
2. Premium Name Program ends earlier on March 3, 2014. Zodiac will inform program participants of the results via email and give no further public notice. For submission that is not accepted into the Premium Name Program, submission fees will be refunded. If the submission fees are paid with cash coupons, that part shall not be refunded.
3. Pioneer Program ends earlier on March 3, 2014. Zodiac will inform program participants of the verification results via email and give no further public notice. In order to thank the applicants for participation, for application that is not accepted into pioneer program, pioneer fees will be refunded to the applicants. If the fees are paid with cash coupon, that part shall not be refunded.
4. Since March 3, 2014, no nomination or application regarding the above programs will be accepted.
5. Before March 17, 2014, Zodiac will refund the above-mentioned fees to your Alipay accounts, please check in time. Zodiac also friendly reminds you to check your email timely.
